It looks like we have summer vacation in the IT market and just boring things are happening. However, we found some nice pearls for the treasure hunt.

Europe missing Cloud alternatives

Opinion: looking into the European cloud market, it’s clear we are missing options

OVH and Scaleway do a fantastic job. And while OVH has a marketing and branding issue looking like a web hoster from the 2000s, the Frenchies do everything right. Every expected service is available, cheaper than German solutions, and easy to automate.

Overall, the market is disappointingly empty. There are no challengers, no innovation, no next big thing. But this is urgently needed. Due to this disastrous new data protection framework, the EU release, I assume it will become very challenging to find the correct answer for the perfect hoster in the following years.

My little hope is new generations either of fully distributed platforms or the new ideas on the block like evroc.

What happened? Hunting for VLOOKUP errors and being scared of phishing emails.

The darknet gave birth to WormGPT and FraudGPT

Where is light, there is shadow. This counts for the GPT market and the LLMs too. Now the darknet put together what it can to build less restricted LLMs that can write your phishing emails or even create new malware. The creator behind those tools looks like having a proven track record and no no-names.

Besides those tools, the darknet getting swamped by instructions on how to bypass the security mechanisms for various popular LLMs.
